Summary of position

The IT Support Engineer would support IT infrastructure and users based on and off-site. They would be part of the IT team of Qualco UK, a Technology company working within the Collections & Recoveries sector of the Financial Services industry. The team is part of a small but rapidly expanding, ambitious Technology company; working within the Collections & Recoveries sector of the Financial Services Industry. Our clients range from Utilities and Telecoms companies, Banks and Lending companies and our aim is to use our expertise to empower our clients with innovative technology thereby improving their recoveries.

The Qualco infrastructure is built both on premise and Cloud. The position would primarily involve providing outstanding technical support for our team; management of software and hardware, security and network systems and providing first line of support for service tickets. There is the opportunity for personal development and learning the other responsibilities of a System and Network Engineer. The position is ideal for a candidate who wishes to dive into modern cloud technology and infrastructure.

Occasional out of hours work may be required for example to update systems without disruption during usual business hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide Technical support to staff members
  • Assist with Infrastructure Projects
  • Computer Setup, maintenance and updates
  • Monitor anti-virus and intrusion activities across all servers and devices
  • Closely monitor server performances across all services and servers and ensure business continuity
  • Maintain IT related inventory of computers, mobile phones, software licenses, network equipment, printer, meeting room equipment etc
  • Support Office 365/Qualco applications, 365 administration of Users and Groups
  • Assist with documentation of Qualco Policies
  • Manage and assign service tickets/IT change requests and administer Jira

Required skills/experience

The ideal candidate will have some of the following experience and be willing to learn and develop in this role:

  • User support and troubleshooting experience in both hardware and software
  • MS client and server administration skills
  • Client OS knowledge, Active Directory and group policies
  • DB – MS SQL Server knowledge
  • SharePoint and Teams administration
  • Jira Administration
  • Networking and data backup knowledge, working with DR
  • Excellent knowledge of all MS Office Products and tools (cmd, powershell)
  • Good knowledge of iPhone and mobile device management (MDM)
  • Basic firewall and VPN knowledge & skills
  • Strong customer services ethos and good team player
  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • SaaS, PaaS, IaaS
  • Cloud Networking Security
  • DevOps management and processes
  • Infrastructure as Code, Terraform / Bicep
  • Understanding of Data Protection legislation and requirements of standard ISO27001 and ISO9001
