On the 22nd October, we held the latest instalment of our Live Series of events, this year it was QUALCO Live 25.

Held within the Open Banking Expo, at the Business Design Centre in London, it consisted of a series of speakers both from the within and outside the collections and recoveries industry.

Our Managing Director, Christian Jacob opened proceedings, followed by Dr Marko Sjoblom of Fiinu, who took attendees on a whirlwind view of how consumer credit could look, come 2055.

This was followed by an inspirational journey as told by by ASOS.com founder, Nick Robertson, who shared tales from the early days at ASOS and how adaptation played a huge part in the success of the brand.

Sarah Furness, a former Squadron Leader and combat helicopter pilot, told of lessons learned on the battlefield and how they can be applied to corporate (and daily) life, which was enthralling and at times terrifying in equal measure!

Sarah was followed by Chris Hague from Bill Gosling Outsourcing, Colette Land from Experian and Tim Tomlinson from Sopra Steria discussing the power of partnerships, with journalist Ellie Duncan.

George Zacharakis from Qualco Group, provided an economic update which was very insightful.

Next came the effervescent sports journalist and presenter Jonathan Legard who walked attendees through the similarities between F1 and corporate life.

Jonathan was followed by a panel discussion on whether AI is a disruption, a salvation, or something else, which involved Imran Rasul from Everyday People Financial Solutions, Daniel Calcott from The Digital DRA, Paddy Gilling from Ophelos, part of Intrum together with Togglit’s own James Goddard FCICM.

Christian then closed things out before attendees joined the rest of the OBE delegates at the Bavarian Bar. We begin planning next year’s event soon. More photos and videos from QUALCO Live 25 will be appearing on qualco.co.uk so be sure to visit the site.

Finally thank you to all who attended, we hope you found the day beneficial and of interest.
