Qualco UK shortlisted for Best Outsourcing & Partnership Initiative at industry awards
Qualco UK has been shortlisted for Best Outsourcing & Partnership Initiative at the forthcoming Credit Awards for its recent work in conjunction with the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Finalists for the category each had to highlight how in the past 12 months an initiative with an external organisation improved the customer experience and led to better outcomes for customers in vulnerable circumstances.
DHSC partnered with Qualco in 2021 to develop the processes and technology required for its traveller interactions under the Managed Quarantine Service, which was introduced in response to returning nationals during the coronavirus pandemic.
Within six weeks Qualco launched a white-label solution, which involved generating DHSC-branded invoices for travellers who selected to pay later, standing up an inbound payment solution (leveraging the DCA panel) and progressing those travellers who hadn’t paid into its debt recovery cycle. Furthermore, Qualco worked with DHSC’s policy unit to recognise travellers in hardship, recommending the criteria to identify those who should qualify, and implementing a scheme overnight in September 2021.
Christian Jacob, Managing Director for Qualco UK commented, “We are thrilled our partnership with DHSC has been recognised for an award. The project has and continues to present many complexities due to the nature of ever-changing travel rules, and it was extremely rewarding to develop the hardship scheme to ensure vulnerable customers were identified. We will keep our fingers crossed for a win in June!”
Debt Lead of the MQS Reconciliation Team at the UK Health Security Agency, Darren Braithwaite, said: “During the last year we have stood up a brand-new process, onboarded a new supplier, agreed the collection strategies, implementing and improving throughout. This would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the team at Qualco; I am delighted we have been shortlisted for the award.”
The winners will be announced at the ceremony, due to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on 29 June 2022.
