Qualco UK’s charity football tournament returns 1 August 2019

Qualco UK’s seven-a-side charity football tournament returns on Thursday 1 August 2019, and the industry is invited to sign up to get involved. The inaugural tournament last year involved nine teams and raised more than £1,700 for charities Princess Alice Hospice and the Campaign against Living Miserably (CALM).

The tournament will return to Walton Casuals’ £20 million stadium, Waterside Drive in Surrey. Players will compete to win the Qualco Cup and Plate, last year won by Founded and Cabot Credit Management respectively. Teams will play in a World Cup-style group stage and knockout rounds.

It costs £250 to field a team and all profits will go to Qualco’s chosen charities, Princess Alice Hospice and CALM. Mixed teams are encouraged to enter, and there is no minimum level of playing experience required; everyone is welcome to compete for an enjoyable day of fundraising. Refreshments will be available in addition to post-event networking opportunities.

Qualco UK’s managing director, Christian Jacob commented, “It was an excellent day last year to get the industry together in a more informal setting to raise money for two worthy causes. We had players who thought they were the next Messi competing alongside some who had never played a match before! Everyone enjoyed it and we hope more teams will get involved this summer.”
